If you want a real rooftop with a full menu, start with CRU Bar & Kitchen on Lady Musgrave Road, Broken Plate on Barbican Road, or Mezza Luna, which the Jamaica Observer reported as open on the roof of McMaster Plaza on Constant Spring Road in December 2025. CRU stays open until 2 AM on Friday and Saturday nights. Broken Plate has an open-air terrace and a menu that includes oxtail, seafood and desserts. Mezza Luna serves Mediterranean dishes with cocktails and wine. Sora on Barbican Road, One Hundred for city-light and mountain views, and District 5 at R Hotel for a casual sky terrace round out the list.

Where the rooftops are

Kingston's rooftop and high-terrace dining is spread across a few districts. In New Kingston, CRU, District 5 and the rooftop pool bar at Courtyard by Marriott sit in the business and entertainment districts, where many of the hotels and offices that bring business visitors to the area are. Barbican Road holds Broken Plate and Sora, both at Progressive Shopping Center. Mezza Luna sits on Constant Spring Road, and Ocean 7 is the waterfront choice at Victoria Pier on Ocean Boulevard, downtown. One Hundred, a rooftop bar in Kingston, offers city-light and mountain views.

Empty open-air rooftop terrace tables at dusk with city lights beyond Kingston's rooftops sit in several districts, from New Kingston to the waterfront.

Rooftop or just elevated?

A high floor does not make a rooftop. Some hotel bars sit a floor or two up, beside a pool or a view, and they feel different from a restaurant on the roof. Ask whether your table will be outdoors before you book, especially if the view is the reason you are going.

Picks by what you want

For a sit-down dinner on the roof, Broken Plate is a strong choice. Its menu covers small plates, pasta, seafood, chicken, oxtail, lamb, steak, sandwiches and desserts, and the terrace is open-air. Mezza Luna is the newest name here. The Observer called it a new Mediterranean-fusion rooftop restaurant in June 2026, and its menu draws on Greek, Italian, Lebanese and wider Mediterranean cooking.

For drinks that run late, CRU Bar & Kitchen is worth a look. It serves Jamaican and international food alongside cocktails, wine and spirits, and its Friday and Saturday hours run until 2 AM. One Hundred's Rooftop Bar serves cocktails and Jamaican food with city-light and mountain views, and it adds scheduled entertainment. On Friday and Saturday it also stays open until 2 AM.

Sora is a rooftop dining restaurant. The menu covers Japanese-inspired dishes, sushi, handrolls, steaks, cocktails and lounge drinks, with panoramic city views.

District 5 is the restaurant inside R Hotel Kingston on Renfrew Road in New Kingston. It serves Caribbean and global cuisine on a casual sky terrace, with themed nights and live acoustic performances. Courtyard by Marriott Kingston has a rooftop pool bar in New Kingston that serves the chef's daily specials and signature cocktails, with views over the city. The hotel's Kitchen and Bar handles all-day dining separately.

For a harbour view with live music, Ocean 7 Restaurant Bar and Grill at Victoria Pier has a Sky Bar with panoramic harbour views. It is a waterfront spot with live music and dining.

Two rooftop menus here publish prices in Jamaican dollars, and both are menu prices as of 14 October 2026. Broken Plate lists soup at J$1,450 (about US$9), small plates from J$1,950 (about US$12), large plates from J$3,950 (about US$25) up to J$12,550 (about US$79), and desserts from J$1,350 to J$1,450 (about US$8 to US$9).

Plated oxtail with rice and peas and sautéed vegetables on a white plate Oxtail is one of the large plates on a rooftop menu.

Mezza Luna's menu lists soup at J$950 (about US$6), small plates from J$1,100 (about US$7), hummus from J$1,800 (about US$11), pizzas from J$2,900 to J$4,900 (about US$18 to US$31) and entrées from J$3,400 (about US$21) to J$12,300 (about US$77). A meal before drinks there starts around J$3,400. Mezza Luna also keeps a separate Indian menu with some prices in US dollars, so ask which menu you are reading before you order.

These two menus are examples, not a price range for every rooftop in Kingston, so use them as a planning guide. Drinks come on top of these prices. For the other venues, look at the current menu before you go so you can plan the budget.

Getting there and paying

The simplest way to reach these rooftops at night is a taxi, a rideshare where one operates, a private driver or a ride your hotel arranges. Book the ride home before the evening starts. Parking and payment rules differ from one venue to the next, so carry some cash as well as a card.

Common questions

Where are the rooftop restaurants in Kingston?

Most of these rooftops sit in New Kingston, on Barbican Road, on Constant Spring Road or downtown at Victoria Pier. New Kingston venues generally sit in the Kingston 10 and Kingston 5 business and entertainment districts, so CRU, District 5 and the Courtyard pool bar form a cluster you can visit in one evening. Broken Plate and Sora are on Barbican Road.

Where should I go for a rooftop dinner in Kingston?

It depends on the night. Broken Plate and Mezza Luna both publish full menus with prices, so you can plan the cost before you go. District 5 suits a hotel dinner with Caribbean and global food, and the hotel recommends booking for Friday and Saturday evenings.

Which Kingston rooftops are less obvious?

District 5 is easy to overlook because it sits inside R Hotel, and visitors who search only for standalone restaurants can miss it. Ocean 7 at Victoria Pier offers a harbour setting that feels different from the New Kingston rooftops. Mezza Luna sits on the roof of a commercial plaza, not a hotel, so it is a different setting from the other names here.

Where can I eat and drink in Kingston?

Kingston also has street food, Jamaican restaurants, international dining, hotel restaurants, sports bars and live music venues. For a rooftop, group your choices by area. New Kingston has CRU, District 5, the Courtyard pool bar and One Hundred. Barbican Road has Broken Plate and Sora. Downtown, Ocean 7 is the waterfront choice. For more options beyond rooftops, read the best restaurants in Kingston guide or the restaurants open late in Kingston guide. If you want food after the rooftop closes its kitchen, see pan chicken and late-night jerk in Kingston.

Which part of Jamaica has the best nightlife?

Visit Jamaica calls Kingston the island's cultural capital and highlights its nightlife, restaurants and live music. Kingston is the strongest choice when reggae and dancehall culture, live music and a wide mix of bars matter most to your night. Rooftop bars here run late on weekends, as CRU and One Hundred both show with 2 AM closing times on Friday and Saturday.
