For a dedicated seafood menu in Kingston, start with Sharkies Seafood Kingston on Constant Spring Road or Tummy Tease in Newport Commercial Center near Marcus Garvey Drive. For a meal by the water, Gloria's Seafood City at Victoria Pier on Ocean Boulevard is the waterfront choice. Kingston and St. Andrew have more options than these three, from a Port Royal harbour table to sushi-style seafood in New Kingston.
Dedicated seafood menus
Sharkies Seafood Kingston is at Di Lot, 33 Constant Spring Road. It is a seafood restaurant first, with whole fish, shrimp, conch, lobster, crab, seafood boil and seafood platters. Fish can be steamed, escovitch, brown stewed or curried. The lobster can be prepared with garlic, grilled, deep-fried or curried, and the menu also includes lobster pasta and crab. It is open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The seafood boil brings blue crab, crayfish, corn, sausage and eggs to the table, which makes it a good pick for sharing.
Many Kingston seafood menus start with whole fish that can be steamed, escovitch, brown stewed or curried.
Tummy Tease Seafood Restaurant is in Unit 9A at 6 to 12 Newport Boulevard, Kingston 13, in Newport Commercial Center near Marcus Garvey Drive. It has indoor and outdoor seating and offers takeout and delivery. Its menu highlights the seafood boil, fresh snapper or parrot fish, curried conch, crab, shrimp and crayfish. Fish is cooked to order as escovitch, steamed or brown stewed, so you choose the preparation when you order. The restaurant says its seafood boil is available every day.
Pon Top Seafood Grill & Bar at 29 Westminster Road is a seafood grill and bar open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, until midnight on Friday, from 1 p.m. to midnight on Saturday and from 2 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Waterfront and harbour meals
Gloria's Seafood City is at Victoria Pier on Ocean Boulevard, right on the waterfront. It serves fish, lobster, shrimp, conch, soups, seafood platters and sides. The Kingston menu offers roast, brown-stewed, curried and grilled fish, with battered and garlic preparations, and the lobster can be honey-jerk. Mixed seafood platters are on the menu too. The restaurant adds a 10 percent service charge. For more on eating along the harbour front, see where to eat on the Kingston waterfront.
Gloria's Seafood City sits on the waterfront at Victoria Pier.
For a historic harbour setting, go to Port Royal. Gloria's at 5 Queen Street is open every day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant describes its original Port Royal location as especially known for steamed fish. Port Royal sits outside central Kingston, so allow extra travel time and plan around traffic.
Pirate's Hideout Surf & Turf Lounge at 22b Foreshore Road, also in Port Royal, is a seafood spot open from 10 a.m. to midnight every day, and until 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. It is the choice for a later meal on the Port Royal waterfront.
Bunny's Seaside Kitchen at 3b Port Royal Street is a seafood restaurant open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, until 10 p.m. on Friday, and closed on Sunday.

Seafood in New Kingston and at the weekly event
One Park Restaurant & Lounge at 1 Park Close in New Kingston is the contemporary choice. Its raw-bar menu includes a lobster crab roll, spicy tuna roll, tuna crab roll, tempura prawn roll and oysters. It suits a sushi-style seafood meal and an upscale evening rather than a traditional fish fry.
Rocksteady at S Hotel, on St Lucia Avenue, serves snapper fillet, salmon, curried shrimp and seasonal grilled lobster tail. Snapper is offered steamed, escovitched, grilled or brown stewed. Its prices are in US dollars.
Starz Fusion Lounge at 2 Chelsea Avenue in Kingston 5 has a seafood section for snapper or parrot fish, shrimp and lobster. Fish can be steamed, roasted, curried, fried or brown stewed, and lobster can be grilled, curried, garlic, fried, escovitch or served with escallion butter.
The Premier Miles Restaurant at 160 Spanish Town Road serves Jamaican food and seafood. It opens at 7 a.m. Monday to Friday and at 10 a.m. on Saturday, closing at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. on Saturday, and it is closed on Sunday.
Oyster Bay Bistro is a weekly operation rather than a daily restaurant. On Thursdays it runs at House of Flamez, 1C Jack's Hill Road, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturdays it runs at 20 Holborn Road from midday to 6 p.m. The menu includes roast fish, lobster, shrimp, crab and conch, with grilled lobster tail among its named dishes. It works best as a planned outing, since it runs on set days only.
Hellshire Beach sits in St. Catherine, beyond Portmore, and it is a different kind of outing. The Jamaica Observer reported in July 2024 that Hellshire is popular for seafood and that shoreline businesses kept operating after hurricane damage. Hellshire is a beach fish-fry area with several operators, not one restaurant. It is known for fried or steamed fish served with bammy and festival. Ask for the total price, including the fish and the sides, before the fish is cooked.
Traditional Jamaican fish preparations
Many Kingston seafood menus use the same Jamaican preparations, and knowing them helps you order. Escovitch is fried fish served with a pickled, spicy mixture commonly built around vinegar, onions, carrots and peppers. Steamed fish is cooked with liquid and seasonings, often with okra, pumpkin and tomatoes. Brown-stewed fish is usually fried or browned first, then simmered in a seasoned gravy. Roast or grilled fish is cooked over heat, sometimes with a sauce, and curried fish is cooked with Jamaican curry seasoning and aromatics. Fried fish is commonly served with bammy, festival, rice, vegetables or plantain.
Steamed fish is often cooked with okra, pumpkin and tomatoes.
What seafood costs in Kingston
Prices are current menu prices as of October 2026. Menus change, and some prices exclude service charges. Where a menu gives Jamaican dollars, the approximate US dollar figure is rounded at US$1 = about J$159, the Bank of Jamaica rate of 13 October 2026.
Gloria's Seafood City adds the 10 percent service charge to its prices. Rocksteady at S Hotel prices its dinner menu in US dollars, so those figures stay in dollars.
These figures are not interchangeable. A price per pound, a whole fish by size, a single plate, a roll and a shared platter each measure something different, and hotel prices reflect a different pricing structure and service level from a seafood counter. Compare the same unit when you choose between two places.
The National Fisheries Authority's 2025 quarterly statistics give average market prices for fish. In Kingston and St. Andrew, snapper averaged J$1,114 and parrot fish J$1,136 in that report. Those are fish-market prices, not restaurant meals, so a cooked dish with sides will not match them.
The lobster closed season
The spiny lobster closed season runs from April 1 to June 30. Catching lobster is illegal during that period, and the National Fisheries Authority's 2025 guidance says possession of stored lobster is regulated. Berried and undersized lobster stay prohibited all year. In 2026, new rules introduced a declaration and traceability system, so legally harvested and properly declared lobster stock can be sold or eaten during the closed season under the updated rules. Ask whether a lobster dish comes from declared stock. For more on the season itself, read Lobster Season in Jamaica: When It Opens and Where to Eat Lobster.
Spiny lobster is protected by a closed season from April 1 to June 30.
Payment and timing
Card and cash policies vary from one restaurant to the next, and the Hellshire operators each work on their own terms. Bring Jamaican cash as a backup, especially for beach outings and weekly pop-ups.
